Gold Party FAQs As a hostess do I make any money? Yes, you make 10% of the total paid out at the party.
Is there a minimum as to how many people have to be at a party? No. However, the more I purchase the more money you make!
Do you do Fundraisers? Yes. I will pay up to 15% to fundraisers. Some ask for a % of donation from the guest as well. There is no cost to set up for a Gold Event. I require minimum space..... only a table, chair, good lighting and an outlet. The advertising and promotion is left up to you.
How is the gold tested & weighed? Gold is tested and weighed in front of you with the industry’s best equipment, by a professional! “I am not sure I want to sell my gold.” What if I just want to find out what it’s worth? I am making an offer to purchase your items, you decide if you want to sell. Should you decide to sell in the future, I can meet you during business hours at my retail location. No pressure! Will I be paid a fair price? How do I know I am not getting ripped off? I’ve researched my competitors and pay at or more, quite a bit above what you would get from a pawn shop, internet site and the Gold Party & Cash for Gold fads of today. You will be pleasantly surprised what you tired and worn jewelry is worth, if you opt to you can take a 20% bonus on a ASHTON/CHRISTOPHER in-store credit for merchandise or any service we offer. How do you base your payout on the gold? The price you see in the papers and on the Internet is the Price of Gold for a Troy Ounce of .9999 fine gold. For an evening party, I use the market rate of Gold’s PM Fix as the basis of the calculation. How do you pay, in Grams or Pennyweight? I pay out in Pennyweight. Most jewelers pay in Pennyweight (dwt): There are 20 Dwt and 31.1 grams to a Troy Ounce of .9999 Fine Gold. I would be happy to do the conversion for you if you prefer grams. Do you take out Stones? Yes/No. If you prefer to keep your stones we can make arrangements to remove them properly in our shop for a minimum fee. We purchase items with stones but do not offer more unless they are diamonds or have a significant market value to us. What happens to the Jewelry after you buy it? It will get melted down, recycled and/or used in our repair facility. I don’t want to have a party but would like to sell my gold; can I come to one of your parties? No. We can not bring a stranger into one of our Host’s parties. We can meet you individually during business hours at our retail location. We also have Gold parties scheduled on certain days: Please check our Calendar. Do you buy Silver? Yes we will buy silver jewelry, flatware & anything as long as it has a quality mark. Do you pay in Cash? Yes/No. It is too dangerous for me to carry cash to the parties. Also I do not know how much I may need for the party in advance. The checks are ASHTON/CHRISTOPHER company checks and I can provide multiple references. If cash is the desired form of payment arrangements can be made to accommodate your party. Is there a particular day or evening which works better to host a party? It will depend on your group of friends and their schedules to determine the appropriate night or day. There is no time that works necessarily better than others, although I’ve found a Friday night has been the best for most, as well as Saturday for day parties. What are the benefits of working with ASHTON/CHRISTOPHER? I’m a professional with a REAL business, with 28+ years reputation in the industry and community.
